An event report on the “Japan-Saudi EXPO Investment Forum“, held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai site, has been published on the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East‘s website.

“Japan-Saudi EXPO Investment Forum” was a business event jointly hosted by the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East, the Saudi Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority, the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and JETRO, and was held under the strategic partnership “Japan-Saudi Vision 2030” between the two countries, with the aim of introducing opportunities for collaboration across a wide range of fields including energy, technology, innovation, healthcare, culture, and infrastructure.

At the event, 19 memoranda of understanding (MOUs) aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries were unveiled, including an MOU between Saudi Arabia-based gaming and esports leader Hawk Gaming Group and ePARA. The signing of the 19 memoranda of understanding (MOUs) unveiled at this forum shows that cooperation between the two sides based on “Japan-Saudi Vision 2030” is expanding into non-oil sectors such as esports, healthcare, and clean energy, and this MOU is seen as a catalyst for the project to take concrete shape and for cooperation across various fields in both countries to be strengthened.

Overview of the Japan-Saudi EXPO Investment Forum

This forum was held as part of Saudi Arabia’s National Day commemorative program at the Expo, bringing together public and private sector representatives from both countries, including Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF), as well as Japan’s State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Tomoichiro Koga and Yasunari Morino, Japan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

According to an announcement by the Saudi Arabia Pavilion, approximately 1,500 people participated over the course of the day, and the event served as an opportunity for the two countries, marking 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, to deepen their understanding of economic cooperation and investment opportunities through talks, panel discussions, and presentations in a variety of fields.
